The new Civic Center includes a 3-story 103,000 SF building, with space for City Council Chambers and offices, together with public spaces and offices supporting City services and Community Development. A community center with an alternate use as an emergency operations center is available for use by the public. 500 Parking spaces are also provided.
The mechanical system is designed with low-velocity ductwork and enhanced vibration isolation of equipment to accommodate the acoustical requirements of the project. It also includes high efficiency rooftop package variable air volume units, high efficiency heating hot water boiler system and integrated Direct Digital Control (DDC) system. All AC-units and pumps are on variable frequency drives for optimum
efficiency.
This project has been awarded a LEED Silver Certification, and has received $23,547 in energy-efficiency incentives from San Diego Gas & Electric’s Savings by Design program.
