The Guild Hotel is a reimagination of the iconic YMCA building in the center of downtown San Diego. The luxury boutique hotel provides an upscale and unique guest experience. From the building’s historic facade adorned with modern art, to the dramatic reimagining of the gymnasium-turned-ballroom, The Guild begs visitors to uncover experiences that will last a lifetime. The renovation provides 162 rooms with private bathrooms.
The mechanical system consists of all new HVAC equipment to serve the renovated 92,000 square foot building consisting of a VRF (Variable Refrigerant) system for all of the guest rooms and other spaces. The guest rooms are individually air conditioned and integrates natural ventilation to each space. New DX split systems serve the Ball Room and Event Center spaces. The building includes a new kitchen, kitchen prep and laundry facilities.
The plumbing systems include converting the building from dormitories with common toilet / shower rooms on each floor of the 6 story plus penthouse to individual toilet / shower rooms. New gas fired high-efficiency, tank-type water heaters serve the guest rooms, laundry, kitchen equipment. The building renovation includes new sanitary waste and vent, domestic cold water and storm drain piping. The new utilities are connected to existing utilities.
