Mechanical and plumbing design for the build-out of a Clinical Laboratory and build–out of Office Tenant Improvements at Sharp’s newly acquired 5651 Copley Drive Building, San Diego, CA 92111. The Copley building is the new home for a consolidated laboratory comprised of Sharp Metro Core Laboratory and Sharp Rees-Stealy Laboratory, along with office space for administrative functions.
The mechanical systems for this facility are a four‐pipe chilled & hot water system with variable air volume air handling units with reheat coils. Chiller, natural gas boiler, and cooling tower provide the aforementioned heating and cooling mediums. Some of the system specifics include: Outside air filtration, 100% outside air laboratory systems, isolate ventilation for hazardous material storage and other laboratory specific environmental control systems.
The plumbing system for this facility consists of general plumbing (restrooms), high efficiency, gas‐fired water heaters, storage tank, and low‐flow fixtures. It also includes laboratory gas and deionized water systems for labs. Sanitary waste and vent provided to restrooms, showers, and lab sinks.
