Mechanical and plumbing design for the remodel of a 36,000 SF emergency department at the Scripps Prebys Cardiovascular Institute. This institute houses the most advanced diagnostic and treatment options for patients with cardiovascular diseases. It also serves as a center for medical research, clinical trials and graduate medical education.
Mechanical system includes the extension of the existing air handling, exhaust fans, energy management control (EMC) and piping systems, with respective zone constant volume hot water reheat boxes, controls and space pressurization serving Trauma Rapid treatment, MRI, exam rooms, nurse stations, radiology, patient rooms and support space.
The plumbing system includes medical gas and vacuum air systems for Trauma, rapid treatment, MRI, exam rooms, and multiple rooms requiring medical gas. Domestic soft water, sanitary waste and vent provided to restrooms, showers, and sinks.
