Mechanical and plumbing design for demolition of existing structures and the design, engineering, and construction of four new MCON Bachelor Enlisted Quarters (BEQs) at MCB Camp Pendleton, CA.
Each BEQ includes about 93,500 SF of 200 two-person rooms, and service core facilities. The Community Center includes:
- A multipurpose room
- Recreational lounge (with kitchen)
- An internet café & learning center
- Duty (Administrative) office
- Central laundry
- Public restroom
- NMCI telecommunications room
- Electrical room
- Mechanical room
Outdoor amenities include BBQ areas with sinks and fire pits. There is also a 600 vehicle parking structure of approximately 179,000 SF.
This project has been awarded a LEED Gold Certification, as well as a national design-build award from the Design-Build Institute of America, as well as 2012 American Public Works Project of the Year for its Sustainable/Green design by the San Diego/Imperial chapter.
