Mechanical and plumbing design for this 75,000 SF Weapons and Armament RDT&E Facility to serve the Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division. Facility includes open and enclosed office spaces, a library, conference room, restrooms, communication rooms and a break/lunch room. Electronic laboratories are provided along with specialized laboratories for specific missiles and missile systems, a machine shop with a spray paint booth, and a build up area, a common munitions bit reprogrammable equipment (CMBRE) laboratory and a fabrication and repair laboratory.
The chilled water system consists of three chillers and three cooling tower cells, each sized for 50 percent of peak design load. One chiller and tower are standby. High efficiency, condensing type heating hot water boilers are provided. The ventilation system consists of four roof mounted variable air volume central air handling units. Central humidification are provided for all laboratory and lab support areas.
The plumbing systems utilize ultra low flow plumbing fixtures and compressed air to lab spaces. Domestic hot water is provided by a water heater & storage tank system with circulator. Safety shower / eyewashes serve the lab areas.
