Mechanical engineering and design services for this approximately 235,000 SF, 12-building High School campus in Chula Vista. The campus includes a fine arts building, administrative offices, a library, classrooms, a student support center and a gym, as well as various other maintenance and campus facilities.
Mechanical design includes high efficiency gas heating and electric cooling rooftop AC-units. The entire HVAC system is optimized via a state of the art energy management system.
The plumbing design includes sanitary waste and vent systems for all buildings. High efficiency, domestic natural gas fired, instantaneous water heaters are used in the gymnasium / locker building, Science building, and food service buildings. The Science building includes lab waste, lab natural gas, lab vacuum, and lab air utilities. This project received $48,000 in energy-efficiency incentives from San Diego Gas & Electric’s Savings by Design program.
