Mechanical and plumbing design for the renovation of the existing 20,000-square foot historic park, as well as the creation of a new, approximately one-acre public plaza created by the removal of the former Robinsons-May building. Combined, the new Horton Plaza Park covers 1.3 acres.
Mechanical systems include high-efficiency ductless split systems with natural ventilation for the retail spaces. There was also mechanical ventilation for restrooms and vaults. Smaller pollution control units were added to minimize odors in the public space.
The plumbing systems include sanitary waste & vent, domestic cold water, storm drainage and plumbing fixtures for the new public restroom building. Green roof is integrated into the restroom building. Special consideration was given to green roof drainage and irrigation. Retail spaces are provided with grease waste system, including grease interceptors, natural gas and domestic water services for future food service retail tenant.
