HVAC and plumbing systems design for this two-story, 167,000 SF geriatric skilled nursing facility for the DGS of the County of San Diego. This facility includes patient rooms, exam rooms, isolation rooms, and therapy, administration, dining and kitchen areas.
The mechanical systems consist of custom-made air handling units located on the roof with constant volume reheat boxes and variable air volume reheat boxes throughout the facility. The DDC system employs open system architecture (LonWorks). The central cooling plant consists of two high-efficiency water-cooled centrifugal chillers, equipped with VFD, two cell cooling towers with VFD, primary/secondary chilled water system, etc. The central heating plant consists of two high efficiency gas-fired boilers with a variable flow pumping system.
The plumbing systems consist of complete hot and cold water distribution, sanitary waste & vent system, medical gas equipment and piping distribution, and fire protection system.
