Mechanical and plumbing design for the El Centro Regional Medical Center Central Utility Plant. It is designed to service an area equal to the entire existing hospital, as well as the new addition totaling approximately 250,000 SF. MA Engineers developed the required documents sufficient for OSHPD submission, review and permitting of the remodel, replacement and upgrade of systems located within the existing central plant.
Mechanical systems include three 700 ton oil free magnetic bearing centrifugal water chillers with three 700 ton induced draft counter flow cooling towers. Plant is provided with N+1 redundancy with N+1 pump, tower, chiller etc. New systems were added within the square feet of an existing 500 ton central plant.
Plumbing systems include fuel transfer system for new emergency generators and support utilities for new central plant chillers.
