Mechanical and plumbing design for the 12-acre County Administration Center (CAC) Waterfront Park Development Project, which includes a 254 stall underground parking garage, related underground building systems and surface architectural elements.
This project converted the large on-grade parking lots north and south of the historic Administration Center to a large community and regional open space amenity. The park overlooks San Diego Bay and includes an 830-foot-long fountain with jets shooting water 14 feet into the air. The park includes a shallow splash area for children, a public promenade with large green areas, theme gardens, shade trees, a picnic area and public restrooms.
This project has been awarded a LEED Silver Certification, as well as ENR California’s Best Projects 2014 under the Best Landscape/Urban Development Project category, DBIA 2015 National Design-Build Project/Team Award under the Civic/Assembly Category and the ULI “Grand Jewel” Award.
