Mechanical and plumbing design for two new buildings and several smaller open layout and storage shed structures at the Water Operations Facility, located at 2797 Caminito Chollas, San Diego, CA 92105, as well as removal of approximately 112 trailers with connecting exterior wood decking walkways. Major improvements include the construction of the two new buildings, the first building for administration staff, and the second building for trades operation. Eleven modular trailers will be removed, and one welding shop will be demolished. The two proposed buildings have a combined size of approximately 58,500 square feet. Both buildings are required to meet silver LEED certification requirements.
Mechanical systems include variable refrigerant volume for office areas, 100% outside air system for locker rooms, heating and ventilation for shop areas, and specialty shop exhausts such as dust collectors and welding hoods.
Plumbing systems include domestic cold and hot water system with added solar thermal domestic hot water pre-heating, sanitary waste and vent system, natural gas system, low floor plumbing fixtures, gray water reclaim system to supply landscape irrigation, and a compressed air system.
Sustainable features include solar thermal domestic hot water pre-heating, low floor plumbing fixtures, and a gray water reclaim system to supply landscape irrigation.
