Mechanical and Plumbing design for El Centro Regional Medical Center 68,000 SF, 61 bed expansion for Medical Surgery, Pediatrics and Womens Services. The addition also includes an Emergency Department expansion with new MRI and CT. This upgrade provides the rural community of El Centro and its close neighbors more accessible healthcare right in the neighborhood.
The design and planning of the major hospital expansion are based on Lean principles, ultimately reducing waste and adding value to patient and staff experiences.
Mechanical systems include multiple air handling units with constant air volume reheat boxes for enhanced zonal control. This addition added a campus wide central heating plant to feed the new expansion as well as the existing hospital plumbing systems include.
Plumbing systems include domestic hot water plant was designed for the expansion as well as feeding existing hospital. Medical gas systems include compressed air, vacuum, nitrogen, oxygen, etc.
Sustainable features include high efficiency heating hot water systems and domestic hot water systems, variable capacity air compressors, and variable capacity AHU’s.
